⚡ Zerion’s ZERO Blockchain: A No-Fee Innovation
posted 12 Nov 2024
Zerion's team has officially launched the mainnet of their L2 blockchain, ZERO, enabling users to issue, swap, and transfer tokens with zero gas fees. ZERO employs zero-knowledge proof (ZK) technology to bolster user privacy.
As a part of the Elastic Chain ecosystem connecting various ZK blockchains, ZERO features account abstraction and an Onchain DNA evaluation to check if user addresses qualify for fee-free transactions.
We believe people shouldn’t need to pay to transact and explore onchain. It’s not only about the cost but the mental load. For most users, gas functions almost like a toll on a highway, getting in the way of where users want to go or what they want to do onchain, noted Evgeny Yurtaev, Zerion's co-founder and CEO.
The Onchain DNA feature, as described by the developers, is designed to separate authentic users from bots, promoting a fairer and more secure space for cryptocurrency interactions. With the added benefit of free transactions, the project seems poised to attract a wave of new users from other L2 blockchains.
Previously, Zerion's team completed a successful private funding round, drawing investments from high-profile venture capitalists like Cooper Turley and Yearn Finance developer Banteg. The round also saw participation from individuals affiliated with Lido, Celestia, and even OpenSea.
