The North Korean hacking group Lazarus is now impersonating the CEO of Fenbushi Capital, a Chinese digital asset management company, to launch phishing attacks on LinkedIn users, reports cybersecurity firm SlowMist.

The malefactors were identified by analyzing IP addresses and the overarching attack strategies they employed. Typically, these hackers first gain their victims' trust before sending a malicious link disguised as a video call invitation, thereby gaining access to the victims' computers.

Recall that North Korean hackers have recently begun leveraging artificial intelligence to conduct more complex operations targeting military, financial, and cryptocurrency sectors. Primarily, AI enhances their capabilities in social engineering efforts.
