India Blockchain Week'23 is a significant gathering, drawing web3 enthusiasts globally. The burgeoning and prospective Indian market is increasingly becoming a focal point for global blockchain industry leaders.
The event is spearheaded by the venture capital fund Hashed Emergent, known for its investments in Web2 and Web3 projects within emerging markets. Hashed Emergent has established presences in Bangalore (India), as well as Singapore, South Korea, and Dubai, focusing on promoting the widespread adoption of blockchain technology and decentralized finance sectors.

India Blockchain Week is set to unfold in Bangalore from December 4th to 10th. Bangalore, known as India's foremost scientific and industrial hub, is home to cutting-edge engineering companies, electronics production facilities, and telecommunications equipment manufacturers. The city is often dubbed the "Silicon Valley of Asia" due to its dense concentration of IT companies. A few years back, CNN recognized Bangalore as one of the most appealing business destinations in the developing world.

The highlight of India Blockchain Week'23 will be the two-day IBW'23 Conference. The organizers are branding it as the first of its kind in India, a globally significant Web3 seminar, featuring participants from various blockchain ecosystems. The schedule is packed with speaker sessions, expert discussions, and panel debates covering a wide array of topics. These range from exploring the new global order and the potential for web3 development in India to cutting-edge technological innovations and strategies for mass adoption. Hashed Emergent assures that the event will be enriching for both seasoned blockchain experts and those new to the world of DeFi.

The IBW conference will feature a lineup of distinguished speakers, including:

  • Sandeep Nailwal, Co-founder, Polygon
  • Mo Shakh, CEO & Co-founder, Aptos
  • Dr. Emin Gün Sirer, CEO & Co-founder, Ava Labs
  • Justin Sun, Founder, TronDAO
  • Sébastien Borget, Co-founder & COO, The Sandbox
  • Simon Seojoon Kim, CEO & Managing Partner, Hashed
  • Rene Reinsberg, Co-founder, Celo
  • Irene Wu, Head of Strategy, LayerZero
  • Kelvin Koh, Founding Partner, Spartan Group
  • Dr. Kang Li, Chief Security Officer, CertiK

In addition to these presentations, the conference will host the IBW Demo Day, designed as a hybrid online and offline platform to showcase 12 Indian Web3 startups. These startups will have the opportunity to present their initiatives to a wide array of attendees, including investors, industry experts, and other participants of the IBW’23 Conference. The event also includes a hackathon and a social gathering for participants, fostering networking and collaboration.

The remaining days of India Blockchain Week'23 promise a range of thematic discussions and workshops. Event attendees are encouraged to participate in discussions about the prominent issue of women in technology. Additionally, they can attend the ETHINDIA workshop, an initiative organized by the Indian Ethereum community, and join a global symposium focusing on the legal aspects of cryptocurrency.

In closing, it's significant to highlight that, as per a study by NASSCOM, the country is home to over 450 thriving web3 startups. Impressively, India contributes more than 11% of the world's Web3 talent, positioning it as the third-largest global talent hub in this domain.

It's a timely reminder that India has recently outpaced Europe in terms of the volume of cryptocurrency transactions.
